Prams
One accompanying person may travel free of charge on HSL public transport when transporting a child aged 0 to 6 years in a pram, pushchair, or wheelchair. Bicycle trailers for children count as prams.
Advice for travelling with a pram
When boarding a bus with a pram, use the middle doors. Press the pram button next to the doors to make the doors stay open longer.
When getting on or off a high-floor bus, lift the pram so that the handle faces the vehicle. If you're travelling alone, don't hesitate to ask others nearby for assistance with lifting the pram.
When getting off a low-floor bus, step out while simultaneously pulling the pram out behind you using the handle.
Please note that drivers can refuse to take on board prams, pushchairs, or wheelchairs if no space is available for them.
NB! Prams are usually not carried free of charge on U line buses. On these routes, the bus operators’ own regulations are applied to the transport of prams.
On fully low-floor trams, the space for prams and pushchairs is located by the two front doors. On trams with low middle sections, this space is in the middle.
You can board a tram using the middle doors. Use the pram button beside the doors to make the doors stay open longer.
When boarding a tram, lift the pram onto the tram with the handle facing yourself and the vehicle. The person transporting the pram is responsible for lifting or pulling it into the vehicle. During your journey, please make sure that the pram is securely in place.
Please note that drivers can refuse to take on board prams, pushchairs, or wheelchairs if no space is available for them.
When boarding a commuter train with a pram, use the door marked with a wheelchair symbol.
Press the wheelchair button beside the doors to make the doors stay open longer.
HSL commuter trains (FLIRT trains) have doors with sliding steps that bridge the gap between the train and the platform. The doors are marked with a wheelchair symbol. The step slides out when you press the button marked with a wheelchair logo. In addition, passengers travelling with a pram can use the slide out step.
When travelling on the Metro with a pram, please make sure that your pram does not block the aisle. During your journey, please make sure that the pram is securely in place.
At Metro stations, use a lift as it is not safe to take prams or pushchairs on escalators.
