Contactless payment is a fast and secure way to purchase tickets. Just select the zones and tap your debit/credit card on the reader. The ticket will be stored on your card, and you are ready to board.

You can use contactless payment for adult single fares. However, tickets purchased with contactless payment can also be used by other passengers, not just adults. Your card serves as your ticket, which you show to an inspector or conductor when asked, or to a card reader when boarding a blue bus.

Contactless payment on different modes of transport

Tickets purchased with contactless payment are valid on all HSL public transport: on trams, commuter trains, buses, ferries, and the Metro. You can also use the ticket to transfer between modes of transport.

On buses, trams, and trains, simply tap your debit or credit card at the reader when you board.

If you're taking the Metro or ferry, you must buy your ticket at a card reader before entering the payment area. At most Metro stations, the payment area begins at the card readers located at the top of the escalators to the platforms. At the ferry pier, it begins at the card readers just before boarding.

NB! Contactless payment is not yet available on U line buses.

Tap your debit or credit card to the card reader.
Your debit or credit card acts as your ticket.

HSL fare zones

The HSL area is divided into four zones, identified by letters A, B, C and D. When buying a ticket, select all the zones you travel through. In zones A, B and C, you must always buy a ticket for at least two zones (an AB or BC ticket), as there are no one-zone tickets for zones A, B and C.
