• Updating a student discount on an HSL card 

Customer account

• Creating a customer account if you do not have the tools to complete electronic authentication

Basic matters related to the HSL card

• Buying a new HSL card
• Getting a free ticket
• Getting a Companion Pass
• Using value as a payment method for purchasing a season ticket
• Changes to a season ticket on an HSL card or refunds in the form of a new season ticket

Refunds and exchanges

• Exchanging disposable cardboard cards for QR code tickets or ticket codes for the HSL app.

NB! Municipal service points accept cash and/or card payments. Please check other accepted payment methods directly with the service point in question.

Matters related to penalty fares

• Paying a penalty fare if payment via credit transfer is not possible

Certain HSL card top‑ups

• Topping up transport staff’s HSL cards
• Topping up an HSL card with a service voucher, if the service voucher is issued specifically to HSL

At service points, you can buy the same tickets as at sales points. In addition, you can buy a new HSL card at the HSL or a municipal service point.

At the HSL service point, you can pay by cash, debit or credit card, Edenred Työmatka card, Smartum Pay, and Epassi. 

At municipal service points, you can pay by cash and debit or credit card. Commuter benefits are accepted as a payment method only at certain municipal service points. Please check the accepted payment methods at each location. 

Please bring any necessary documents when visiting a service point—for example, proof of eligibility for a student or pensioner discount. Read more about discounts here. 

If you visit a service point to buy a new HSL card, please bring a driver’s license, a passport or an ID card. A fee of €5 is charged for the new card.
